Last Week of July!

It was a hot day today, but Fall crops are on the brain. Today I seeded in the field greens and turnips, and watered (twice!) the seedlings of kale ‘Toscano’, cauliflower ‘Romanesco’, red and golden beets, and the next batch of flowers. We still have some long months of hot, dry weather to go, but hopefully with enough irrigation and coddling, these crops will do well and provide us some yummy new vegetables in the September.

The melons are coming in, and will be a great treat during these upcoming “dog days”. I get to eat all the cracking and bruised ones, and am blending some up to freeze like popsicles.

I am without a camera until tomorrow, and will put pictures of the melons and Cockscomb Celosia flowers up as soon as possible, so you can check in before you place your order.

Thanks so much for your support, and we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday! John and Tallahassee
